Cameroon - Gabon: Form Analysis
For the 78th-ranked Gabon, 2025 has been an especially good year. They only just missed out on a 2026 World Cup spot after a 4-1 extra-time defeat to Nigeria in the qualifying semifinals.

There are a couple of players to watch from both sides. But a few stand out the most.
For Gabon, its all-time goalscorer Aubameyang (39) and their 2025 leading scorer Bouanga. Bouanga, in particular, just had the season of his life with both club and country.
Denis Bouanga finished the 2025 MLS season as the second-highest goal scorer (26), only behind Lionel Messi.
Aubameyang is also pulling in the numbers, with 10 G/A in the 25/26 Ligue 1 season so far.
For The Indomitable Lions, the players to watch for are Bryan Mbeumo (Man Utd), Carlos Baleba (Brighton), and Etta Eyong. Mbeumo and Eyong lead Manchester United and Levante for league goals this season, with both netting 6 goals so far.
But it’s with Carlos Baleba that Cameroon might have the real edge. He will be the best midfielder stepping onto the pitch and one of the best in the tournament.
