30th seed Cameron Norrie is up against unseeded Favio Cobolli in the second round of the Miami Open. A tough task may well await the winner with third seed Daniil Medvedev or unseeded Marton Fucsovics being the scheduled opponents. Norrie is ranked 31st in the world and faces a battle in the coming months to be seeded at future Grand Slam events. He would love to reach the fourth round here for only the second time having done so in 2022. Norrie lost a lead at Indian Wells in his last tournament and went down in three sets to Gael Monfils in round three. Before that he'd been playing on the South American clay court tour with a semi-final reached in Rio. His best performance on outdoor hard courts this year has been a quarter final in Auckland two months ago.

Favio Cobolli was ranked 63rd when this Masters tournament got underway. That's just one place below his career high achieved earlier this month. A new one has been set now because his round one win over Yoshihito Nishioka has taken him up to 60th. A win didn't look likely when the Italian only won one game in the first set. He fought back well though to win the next two sets for the loss of only five games. Cobolli needed that win having lost his last two matches. He did reach the last eight in Delray Beach and beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in Acapulco. We back Norrie to get the win here.
