Burnley will hope this is the week they rise back into the top two of the Championship, as they host Hull City. Going into the Wednesday match, the Clarets are third in the standings while the Tigers are in 21st spot. Read on for our prediction of the match.
Burnley’s fine season continued with their weekend 1-0 win at Southampton in the FA Cup. Their strength in defence was visible once again.
That was their ninth clean sheet in 11 matches across all competitions. They have only conceded two goals in that period. Also, in the said 11 matches, they only scored more than a goal in three matches.
Hull City were eliminated from the FA Cup much earlier so they haven't played since the beginning of February. They will be well rested going into this game as they seek a return to winning ways.
In their last outing, they fell 2-1 to Stoke City, marking a 15th defeat in the Championship. That left them just a point above the drop zone and it could get tougher, having failed to beat Burnley in any of their last six meetings.
They are also facing the league’s best defence and Hull will hope their three-match winning run away from home extends to four here.

Our Burnley vs Hull Prediction
Burnley have been consistent in the Championship and are serious candidates for automatic promotion. At the moment they are out of the automatic promotion places but their competitive levels can’t be faulted.
A 20-match unbeaten run is definitely a confidence booster here. They take on a Hull City side that won just twice in the last seven matches. Hull City also lost five times in their last eight matches. Our prediction for Burnley v Hull City is for Burnley to win to nil.
