Burnley's miserable start to the season continued on Wednesday with a 3-0 loss to Everton in the Carabao Cup. They return to Premier League action just one place off the bottom of the table and host 13th placed Crystal Palace. The Clarets have only earned four points from their first ten league games of the season. Their only win was away at Luton Town but since then they have lost three league games with nine goals conceded. Burnley just can't stop conceding goals and so far in this season's Premier League have let in 25 goals. Only Sheffield United have conceded more as the three sides promoted from the Championship last season fill all the relegation zone positions. Vincent Kompany's team certainly don't defend like he used to. They have played five home league games this season and are still waiting for their first point with 16 goals already conceded at Turf Moor.

Crystal Palace are seven points clear of the bottom three but ten behind the final European qualifying place. The Eagles as usual are rather inconsistent with three league wins, the same number of draws and four defeats. They have only scored eight league goals this season so may welcome the opportunity to play against Burnley's leaky defence. Last week saw them lose at home to Tottenham and that followed a loss at Newcastle United. There have been wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield United and Manchester United, the latter two on their travels. With this game being followed by fixtures against Everton and Luton Town, November is going to be an important month for Palace and it can begin with a win at Burnley.
