Sunday's first offering in the Premier League sees Burnley host Bournemouth in what is now very much a game that Vincent Kompany's team need to get something from. With Everton's 10-point deduction being reduced to six, it now means Burnley are 12 points from safety and with a much worse goal difference than 17th placed Nottingham Forest. (-33 compared to -14). The Clarets have now not won in eight Premier League games, losing six of those matches and in the last three league games they have scored just one goal and conceded 11. They also boast the worst home record of all teams in the Premier League winning one and drawing two of their 13 games, losing all the others and scoring just 13 goals in the process. They also have the worst record of all Premier League teams over the last six games. 

The one positive that the home side may take from facing Bournemouth is that the Cherries have been in almost as poor form as their opponents. With three draws and three defeats in their last six and without a win in their last eight Premier League games, the Cherries mid-season revival to move away from the drop zone has turned somewhat sour. In their last seven Premier League games they have scored just five goals, conceding 15 in the process. That is even with the goals of Dominic Solanke who has 14 goals this season, to lie tied with Ollie Watkins and Jarrod Bowen and behind only Mo Salah and Erling Haaland. Andoni Iraola's team need to start picking up wins again to avoid being dragged into the relegation battle once again and they have a great chance here.
