by Steve Ashfield in Premier League Predictions
This is a game that 13th placed Brighton and Hove Albion really should win. The Seagulls are home to Leeds United this Saturday with the visitors two places and a point behind their opponents. Time for our match prediction.
Albion were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Arsenal in midweek. They return to the Premier League in inconsistent form but still unbeaten at home. The Seagulls are only four points adrift of the top five, so a good run would put them in a good position by the end of 2025. Reducing the number of goals they concede (15 league goals this season) is another priority for this inconsistent team.
Leeds United had a good win in the league in their last match and are six points above the relegation zone. As you will read in the form section of this Premier League preview, it's their away form that is of most concern to the newly-promoted side.

Brighton - Leeds: Form Analysis
Brighton and Hove Albion have won three of their nine Premier League games this season. They have drawn the same number and also been beaten on three occasions. All three losses have been on the road, most recently at Manchester United last weekend.
The Seagulls are unbeaten at the Amex.
Another away loss was incurred at Arsenal in midweek as the Seagulls crashed out of the Carabao Cup. Home form at the Amex is much better though with a couple of wins and two draws. It could easily have been four wins but they conceded late equalizers against Fulham and Tottenham.
Leeds United are back in the Premier League and have also won three games so far this season. Two have been drawn and four lost but the Whites did win their most recent fixture. That was a 2-1 home victory over struggling West Ham.
United's big problem is their away form. They won at bottom-of-the-table Wolves but have lost their other three games. Nine goals have been conceded by Leeds in their four away league matches this season.

Brighton & Leeds Squad Analysis
Brighton and Hove Albion made changes for the midweek Carabao Cup game at Arsenal. Players such as Welbeck, Dunk and Minteh can all be expected to return to the starting line-up for this Premier League home game against Leeds United.
Mitoma is a doubt for Brighton.
The Seagulls still have seeral injuries and top midfielder Kaoru Mitoma will have a fitness test to see if he can play any part in this match. Even if only on the subs bench, Albion would love to be able to call on Mitoma who is always capable of scoring for them.
James Milner missed the Carabao Cup game and may not play against the club he made his Premier League debut for 23 years ago. Another ex-Leeds player Georgino Rutter is likely to play up front.
Leeds didn't play in midweek so haven't had a match since October 24. They don't have any key injury problems at present. Willy Gnonto and Gabriel Gudmundsson are both back in training but if either features this weekend it's likely to be the latter.
United will expect Brighton to come at them continually in this fixture. A back-four is likely to be field by them as they try to reduce the number of goals that are being conceded on the road this season.

Our Brighton vs Leeds Prediction
This is the kind of match that Brighton and Hove Albion should be taking three points from. The Seagulls are struggling on the road apart from that big win at Chelsea. They concede far too many goals on the road but remain unbeaten at home with some big scalps already claimed.
Leeds will be pleased with earning 11 points from their first nine games. Like their opponents, they are strong at home but struggling for consistency on the road with three league defeats to date. Our main Brighton v Leeds prediction is Brighton wins.
