Sunday’s Premier League action kicks off with a South Coast derby, as Crystal Palace descend on the Amex, aiming to ruffle the feathers of Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls are 13th in the league standings, while the Eagles are in 15th place after 24 games. Check out our match prediction below!

While Palace have been the superior side in the M23 derby in recent times, they enter this edition in desperate need of a positive result. Indeed, it has now been over two months since Oliver Glasner’s side tasted victory in the EPL, and a loss here could see them end the weekend just six points above the dotted line.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side isn’t much better off, just two points above their south coast rivals and winless in four games. If they are to claw their way back into European contention, three points here will be vital to help build momentum with top-half Aston Villa and Brentford to come over the next two matchdays. Let’s get into the key stats!

Brighton - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis

After losing to Fulham in stoppage time on MD23, Brighton were again guilty of failing to see out their match last week, conceding to Everton in the 97th minute, which forced them to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The Seagulls are now winless in their last four league games (D3 L1), while their only victory in their last 11 EPL matches came against relegation candidates Burnley 2-0 in their first fixture of 2026.

On the positive, though, the hosts have been tough to beat at the Amex this season, losing only once in 12 league matches at this venue (W5 D6). They have only failed to score in one home league game this season.

Brighton have only won two of their last 13 Prem matches against Palace (D7 L4)!

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace enter this match off the back of another disappointing performance last week, when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Forest that played the entire second half with 10 men.

That result extended the Eagles' winless run to 12 matches across all competitions, a period during which they were dumped out of the FA Cup 2-1 by sixth-tier outfit Macclesfield last month.

The visitors have only taken one point from their last four away league games (D1 L3), which is a significant downturn after winning three of their four preceding top-flight matches on the road.

Brighton & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis

Brighton were dealt a major blow last weekend, with Yasin Ayari sustaining a shoulder injury against Forest. The Swede has provided a direct goal contribution in each of his last four league games but has been ruled out for this one.

Ayari’s absence could open the door for James Milner to get a start, and if the veteran does feature here, he will equal the record for the most EPL appearances currently held by Gareth Barry (653).

Hurzeler confirmed that Diego Gomez will be available for selection for this match, meaning Mats Wieffer, Solly Mach, Adam Webster, and Stefanos Tzimas are the hosts’ confirmed absentees this week.

Ismaila Sarr scored two goals and provided an assist in this fixture last season!

The AFCON winner with Senegal scored the Eagles’ only goal against Forest last week, and is likely to remain on penalty duty with Glasner confirming that Jean-Philippe Mateta will remain sidelined.

The Palace boss also revealed that new arrivals Jorgen Strand Larsen and Evann Guessand have been in training with the squad this week, and both are in contention to make their debuts this weekend.

Adam Wharton has served his suspension and should come straight back into midfield. Justin Devenny, Borna Sosa, Eddie Nketiah, Daichi Kamada and Cheick Doucoure are ruled out through injury.

Our Brighton vs Crystal Palace Prediction

While Brighton & Hove Albion have only lost one of their last seven matches in all competitions, they have only kept one clean sheet in that time and are developing an unwanted habit of squandering points from winning positions.

Palace, on the other hand, have been in freefall over the last two months, and looked toothless without an out-and-out number nine against Forest last week. Larsen could fill that void here, but we doubt the visitors will keep a clean sheet given their recent record on the road. Our Brighton vs Crystal Palace prediction is BTTS.
