Brentford vs Newcastle Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Joseph King | in Premier League Prediction
In-form Newcastle head to the Gtech Community Stadium to take on ninth-place Brentford for this matchday 30 fixture in the English Premier League. The Magpies hunt for Champions League football took another big step midweek with a win over West Ham keeping Newcastle third in the standings. They’ll look to build up even more separation over themselves and fifth-place Tottenham but could find Brentford to be a tough out. The Bees are having a very successful season in their own right and are still very much in the running for European football next season. Whether that comes in the form of the Europa League or the Conference League remains to be seen with Brentford currently trailing sixth-place Brighton by three points.

Brentford - Newcastle: Form Analysis
Newcastle put in one of their best performances of the season on Wednesday as they romped to a 5-1 away win over relegation-threatened West Ham. The win was the fourth in a row for the Magpies who now lead fourth-place Manchester United by way of a vastly superior goal differential. Eddie Howe’s side have been finding the net for fun lately, scoring two or more goals in four straight matches. Newcastle have the third-best away record in the Premier League this season with only two losses from their 14 trips. The win over West Ham was the visitors second consecutive away win.
Brentford faced a difficult fixture playing Manchester United away from home on Wednesday. It was always going to be tough to get the three points but manager Thomas Frank can be proud of his team’s relatively solid defensive display against a United team that have been on a roll at Old Trafford this season. The Bees were unfortunately unable to capitalize on the one clear cut chance that came their way and thus would ultimately end the match on the losing side of a 1-0 result. Things won’t get much easier for Frank’s side as they now have to contend with a Newcastle team that is playing some excellent football. Brentford will be optimistic however, as the West London club have been very strong at the Gtech Community Stadium this season. They’ve only suffered defeat once on their home soil and have won half of their outings.

Brentford & Newcastle Squad Analysis
Brentford manager Thomas Frank is dealing with a few injury concerns for the visit of Newcastle. The 49-year-old will be without the services of defender Kristoffer Ajer and midfielder Vitaly Janelt. Keane Lewis-Potter also looks set to miss out but Brentford could be boosted by the return of Frank Onyeka who looks like he will recover from a minor thigh injury in time to take part in this match.
Eddie Howe will be without livewire attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron after a thigh injury looks to keep Paraguayan out for the entire month of April. Defender Emil Krafth is the only other injury concern as Howe has nearly a fully healthy squad to choose from. He isn’t expected to make too many changes over the side that dominated West Ham in midweek.

Our Brentford vs Newcastle Prediction
Brentford could suffer from some poor timing here as they come up against a red-hot Newcastle team playing with all the confidence in the world. Brentford have been strong at home this season but will have to be at their very best if they are to get a result from this matchup. At above even money, we believe backing the visitors presents a fair bit of value here as we see the Magpies winning this one more than half of the time.
