Group G action at the 2025 World Women’s Handball Championship resumes on Saturday when Brazil take on the Czech Republic in Stuttgart. Brazil lead the group standings, while the Czechs are in third place. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Brazil got off to a slow start in their opening match, going down 3-1 to Cuba before coming back to lead 18-13 by halftime and go on to win the match by 21 goals by the final whistle (41-20).
Veteran Alexandra do Nascimento led the team with seven goals, but Brazil’s squad depth was also evident in that victory, with 13 of their 14 players used in the match getting on the scoresheet.
As a team, they forced 33 turnovers, while Renata de Arruda recorded a 53% save rate in goal. Brazil have now won nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Meanwhile, the Czech Republic took a two-goal lead in their opening match against Sweden, but they conceded five goals without response thereafter and never really got back in the contest.
Sweden went on to win the match 31-23. Valerie Smetkova top-scored for Chechia with six goals, while Sabrina Novotna made 17 saves, preventing her side from an even bigger loss.
With that result, the Czechs are now on a six-match losing streak in all competitions. Their only previous match against Brazil ended in a 30-27 defeat in 2023.
