Jack Draper is the only remaining seeded player in the top half of Stuttgart’s BOSS Open. The sixth seed takes on unseeded Brandon Nakashima for a place in Sunday’s final. Draper is up two places to 33rd in the live rankings. He can move up to 32nd if winning this match and that’d be good enough to see him seeded at Wimbledon this year. The British player is taking part in his first grass court tournament since 2022. He missed last year due to injury but has had success on this surface. Two years ago, he got to the last four in the Eastbourne grass court event. This week has seen him beat Sebastian Ofner in straight sets (both being decided by a tie-break), Marcos Giron (in three sets) and then the defending champion Frances Tiafoe. That was another three-setter and Draper lost the first one.

Brandon Nakashima is at 70th in the latest ranking list. His run to this semi-final has taken him up to 63rd and can go as high as 55th if winning this match. The American has played at WImbledon three times and twice lost in round one. However, in 2022 he got to the fourth round and that remains his best performance in a Grand Slam. A win over Draper will take him into the first grass court final of his career. So far this week, he’s beaten Christopher Eubanks and lucky loser Richard Gasquet in straight sets. On Friday he was due to take on the seventh seed Jan-Lennard Struff but his opponent withdrew due to injury. We tip Jack Draper to reach the final.
