The last few matches have been torrid for Bournemouth in the Premier League and they will be happy to break from that and focus on the FA Cup. They face Championship high flyers Burnley in the third round of the FA Cup, seeking a first win in five matches. Bournemouth last won a game in November, and they’ve lost each of the last four. They also have no goals in the last four matches and eight of their last 10 matches have ended in defeat. One major stat coming with Bournemouth’s slump is a poor run in defence. They have one clean sheet only in the last 12 matches and they’ve conceded two or more goals in six of their last nine matches. In Bournemouth’s last eight matches, five have seen three or more goals scored. Last year, Bournemouth met Burnley in the FA Cup, and won 2-0 courtesy of Sam Surridge and Junior Stanislas’ goals.

Burnley take to this game a good run, their only loss in the last eight matches having been against Premier League side Manchester United in the League Cup. They are coming from a 2-1 win over Swansea City, which was their third straight win and fourth win in five matches. Early goals by Ian Maatsen settled the clash for Burnley even after Oliver Cooper pulled one back for Swansea. Cooper’s goal denied Burnley a third straight clean sheet; it is the only goal they’ve conceded in three matches, and while they lost to Bournemouth in the last meeting, they’ve won four of the last five meetings with Bournemouth. In three of their last five matches, they have scored two or more goals, and only failed to score once in the last 10 matches. Such a run has seen most of Burnley’s games (eight in 10) produce over 2.5 goals. Away from home, they’ve registered four wins in the last six games.
