Borussia Dortmund host Union Berlin in what will be both teams' second Bundesliga match of the new season. Both Die Borussen and Die Eisernen avoided defeat on the opening day of the season, a fact which will please managers Nico Kovac and his Union counterpart Steffen Baumgart. Both teams will be eyeing a win here to make a good start a very strong one in the Bundesliga this season, so who will our match prediction favour?
Dortmund's two competitive games this season have both come on the road. Firstly, they took on Rot Weiss Essen in the first round of the DFK Pokal and came away with a narrow 1-0 away win. Then last weekend, they travelled to newly-promoted FC St. Pauli and in an exciting finish saw their 3-1 lead evaporate in the final six minutes of the match as St Pauli snatched a 3-3 draw. A point leaves Dortmund in eighth in the first Bundesliga table of the new season.
Like Dortmund, Union Berlin began their season with a DFB Pokal First Round match away from home, where they thrashed Gutersloh 5-0. They then followed that up with an excellent 2-1 win over last season's DFB Pokal winners, VfB Stuttgart at home, winning 2-1 last weekend. That result leaves Union sixth in the table, one of seven teams that won their opening day Bundesliga I fixtures.
