Bologna are brushing shoulders with the big boys in Serie A and will want to stay in the top four when they host Monza next. Going into this game, they have a three-point buffer in fourth place while Monza are 11th, needing five more points to guarantee survival. Bologna’s rise over the past few seasons is well documented. As at 31 matches this season, they’ve already surpassed last season’s tally. To go with it, they are in for major gigs as they eye Champions League football. As things stand, they are three points ahead of fifth placed Roma in the top four race, with a game against Roma coming right after Monza. It thus means they can’t afford to drop points here. Recent wins over Atalanta, Lazio and Fiorentina, and a draw with AC Milan, speak volumes about Bologna’s growth this season. They come into this game on a good run, having only lost to league leaders Inter Milan in their last 11 matches. Bologna won eight of those 11 matches and come here unbeaten in three. In their last game, i Rossoblu were held to a 0-0 draw by Frosinone, registering their third straight clean sheet.

Monza will be looking to go unbeaten in three matches against Bologna. Their one and only loss in this fixture was in 2022, at home. Coming into this encounter Monza are looking to rise from two straight defeats. The most recent of those was 4-2 at home to deposed champions Napoli. This marked the second time in five matches that Monza conceded four goals, and it was their third loss in five games. Monza will be hoping for a better showing in this away game, having won just five of their last 16 on the road. One area that has been problematic for Monza away from home has been their attack. The visitors failed to score in five of their last eight away matches.
