Blackburn Rovers will be at home to welcome Plymouth Argyle in round 37 of the English Championship. Both teams are tied on points after 36 matches with Plymouth in 16th edging 17th-placed Blackburn on goal difference. Blackburn snapped a two-game losing run last time out by drawing 1-1 with Millwall at home. Though the result extended their run without a win, it did keep them two points clear of the relegation zone. John Eustace’s men, who haven’t won in seven games, are two points clear of the bottom three teams. They have drawn four times in their current run without a win with all four stalemates coming in the league. The Riversiders have won 11 games but only one of those has come in 2024.

Plymouth pummeled Blackburn in the reverse match back in September, winning 3-0. The result means they haven’t lost in this fixture in three meetings, going back to their League One days. This should have them confident of a win here as they seek to end their current slump. Ian Foster’s men have won just once in eight outings. They have lost six times in this period and have failed to score in four of those losses. Currently, on a two-game skid, the Pilgrims were defeated 1-0 last time out by second-from-bottom Sheffield Wednesday. A third successive defeat could see them drop into the drop zone. Plymouth have managed just two away wins in the league all season. The two have however come in their last four away fixtures.
