Blackburn Rovers will hope to take a big leap in their survival fight when they host Ipswich Town in the Championship. Ahead of this game, Blackburn are just three points above the relegation zone while Ipswich are just a point off top spot. For a side that narrowly missed a promotion playoff place last season, Blackburn Rovers have been really poor this term. After 38 matches, they have 42 points, in 17th place. With eight games to go, they won’t be able to match the 20 wins they managed last season. It doesn’t help that they come into this game without a win in nine matches across all competitions. Both sides did score in seven of their last 10 matches. At home, in each of their last 12 matches in all competitions, Blackburn got to the score sheet.

Ipswich Town have been the surprise package in the Championship this season. Just promoted from League One, the Tractor Boys are favorites to advance to the Premier League. As things stand, they are in a playoff spot but with 81 points, they are just a point behind the leading duo. With five more points, Ipswich will be assured of a playoff spot, but they will be gunning for better. In the reverse fixture, Ipswich beat Blackburn 4-3 in one of their high-scoring games this season. They are so far the best scoring side in the league with 80 goals but have conceded 49 times. That’s the most any team in the top five has conceded. Here they face a side that has conceded the second most goals, at 64. This combination could be pointing us to another high scoring game. That was the case in their last outing, as they thrashed Sheffield Wednesday 6-0 before heading to the international break. That result marked their return to winning ways after earlier losing 2-1 to Cardiff City. It was also their seventh win in eight matches but they have just three clean sheets in 14 games.
