Birmingham will look to take another step closer to the League One title when they host their nearest contenders, Wycombe Wanderers, in a matchday 34 meeting. This match at St. Andrew’s on Saturday is a top-two clash between the Blues and the Chairboys, and our prediction is a win for the home team.
Before this weekend, Birmingham have 73 points from 31 matches and lead the second-placed Wycombe by nine points. The Blues have a match in hand and look favourites to earn promotion to the EFL Championship.
Birmingham won 2-0 at home against Leyton Orient on Tuesday to extend their unbeaten run to 17 league matches, winning 13. The leaders are even more invincible when playing at home, as they won 13 and drew three of their 16 home league matches this season.
Wycombe are only three points ahead of third-placed Wrexham, so a loss here would put their top-two spot in trouble. Their recent form has thrown their automatic promotion hopes in jeopardy, as the Chairboys drew 0-0 at home against Wigan last weekend.
That made it three draws in their last four league matches, although they won the other. Their poor form has seen them struggle on the road in recent weeks, with Wycombe winning only one of their last four away league matches and drawing two.

Our Birmingham vs Wycombe Wanderers Prediction
This is a top-two clash on paper, but a nine-point gap suggests Wycombe Wanderers can’t afford a loss here. Birmingham also have a game in hand, which means they can lose this match and still be favourites to win the title. Regardless of the situation, Birmingham’s impressive home form makes them strong contenders to win all three points here.
