An unseeded player will progress into round two of the Tokyo Open. Wild card Bianca Andreescu takes on qualifier Mei Yamaguchi in round one of this hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction.
Bianca Andreescu is down at 159th in the live rankings after being off the court for nine months and making her return in May. Now the former world number four has the task of making her way back up the rankings.
Her return came at Roland Garros where the Canadian reached the last 32. Her second tournament back saw her make it to the final of a grass court tournament but she's failed to reach the last 16 of a tournament since then.
Only four hard court matches have been played by her this year and Andreescu is still waiting for her first win.
Mei Yamaguchi is down at 410th in the live rankings. The 25-year-old has a career-high of 367th but won two qualifying matches in straight sets to reach the first round of this hard court tournament.
The year has been spent playing on lower tours with three quarter-finals and one last four appearance. This is a big step up for the young player and we tip Andreescu to win with over 17.5 games played.

Our Bianca Andreescu vs Mei Yamaguchi Prediction
Bianca Andreescu has been struggling for form on hard courts. Taking on a player as lowly ranked as Yamaguchi is a good opportunity for the Canadian to get a win and some confidence. That'll be needed as the winner here takes on second seed Beatriz Haddad Maia next.
Mei Yamaguchi has done well to qualify for the main draw and is expected to put up a bold show. Our Bianca Andreescu v Mei Yamaguchi prediction is Bianca Andreescu to win and over 17.5 games.
