Besiktas are bottom of Europa Conference League Group D and host second placed Bodo/Glimt who are second. The Turkish side are three points behind their opponents and Lugano who are in third position with Club Brugge six above them. The Black and Whites are the only side in the group not to have won a match. Two of their final three games are at home with Brugge also due to pay a visit to Besiktas Park. The Black Eagles only group point so far came when drawing 1-1 at Club Brugge thanks to a late equalizer. It's not gone well since then with a disastrous 3-2 home loss to Lugano after leading 2-0 going into the 81st minute. Their situation in the group worsened when losing 3-1 at Bodo/Glimt. Besiktas are fifth in the Turkish SuperLig but come into this game having lost three of their last four matches.

Bodo/Glimt are second in the group but only ahead of Lugano on goal difference. They are in top form at present and have a nine point lead in the Norwegian Eliteserien table after 27 games of the season. Their most recent game saw them win 4-0 at Stabaek making it five consecutive wins with 17 goals scored. Eight of their last nine have been won, the other being a loss to Club Brugge in this group. Six of their last nine fixtures have seen both teams get on the scoresheet. The Norwegians have won one, drawn one and lost one so far in this group.
