Bengaluru FC will get their AIFF Kalinga Super Cup campaign underway on Wednesday when they face off against Inter Kashi at the Kalinga Stadium. The winner of this match between the Blues and the Warriors of Kashi will move on to face either Mumbai City or Chennaiyin in the quarter-finals. Let’s get into the prediction. 

Bengaluru FC are set to embark on their fifth Super Cup campaign and will be looking to put their 2-1 loss to Mohun Bagan in the ISL Cup behind them. 

The Blues won this competition in 2017-18 and reached the final in 2022-23, but they failed to progress beyond the group stage last season when they were drawn alongside Odisha, Goa, and their upcoming opponent. 

Bengaluru are unsurprisingly installed as massive favourites in this match and will look to Sunil Chhetri to lead the line. Chhetri is the Super Cup’s all-time top scorer with nine goals in 10 appearances. 

Meanwhile, Inter Kashi are set to feature in their second consecutive Super Cup campaign, and will be aiming to upset the odds after failing to qualify from the group stage last season. 

The Warriors of Kashi had an impressive I-League campaign, finishing just one point behind the league-winning Churchill Brothers, with a record of 11 wins, six draws and five defeats. 

Notably, they ended the regular season in excellent goal-scoring form, netting two or more goals in each of their last five matches.
