Belgium and Latvia will face off in their opening match of the 2025 World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt on Thursday evening. Belgium enter the competition as the number six seed, while Latvia are unseeded. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Belgium are back in the World Cup for the 15th time this year. Their 36-15 record, which includes four semis, is the best of any team that has never won the competition.
The Belgians were represented by Kim Huybrechts and Dimitri Van den Bergh in each tournament since 2018, but this year, Mike De Decker will feature after winning the 2024 World Grand Prix.
Belgium have only failed to reach the knockout stages in two of their 15 tournament appearances. De Decker and Van den Bergh are ranked 21st and 22nd in the Order of Merit, respectively.
Meanwhile, Latvia will be making their fifth World Cup appearance this year, but have never progressed beyond the group stage. They have made the second round three times.
Tour card holder Madars Razma, who is ranked 45th in the world, has featured for his nation in every tournament to date, and he is partnered by unranked Valters Melderis for a second time this year.
Latvia have a World Cup record of 5-4 and suffered their first opening round defeat last year, losing to France.

Our Belgium vs Latvia Prediction
Belgium enter the 2025 World Cup of Darts as one of the dark horses and will pin their hopes on Van den Bergh and De Decker, who are having impressive seasons individually, both ranked inside the top 25 in the world.
Madars Razma pushed Luke Humphries to a deciding leg in the Nordic Darts Masters last week, but he will need a massive performance from his teammate Valters Melderis if they are to keep up with the formidable Belgian duo in this one. Our Belgium vs Latvia prediction is Belgium most 180s.
