Second-placed Bordeaux Bègles will aim to strengthen their bid for a top-two finish when they host fifth-placed Castres Olympique in Top 14 matchday 24 fixture on Saturday. Despite an impressive Champions Cup campaign, which has seen them qualify for the final, Bordeaux Bègles have lost momentum lately in the domestic scene. They recorded their second consecutive league defeat following a 46-27 away loss to Montpellier in their last match. 

This recent drop-off has significantly weakened their bid for a top-two finish, dragging them into the race for a semi-final playoff spot in the run-ins. However, they remained formidable at home, winning five of their last six matches in all competitions. 

Castres Olympique, sitting fifth in the standings with 53 points, are out of the race for a top-two finish, but are deeply steeped in the race for a quarter-final playoff spot. They are just one point above sixth-placed Stade Rochelais and two over seventh-placed Montpellier.

Their top-six hopes suffered a significant blow following a heavy 52-6 loss to Stade Toulousain in their last match. They haven't impressed on the road either, going winless in their five away fixtures (D2, L3).
