Straight from a heavy defeat in the UEFA Champions League, Bayern Munich will seek a response in the Bundesliga, when they host Hoffenheim in their next game. Bayern leads the pile in Bundesliga but just by two points and will be eyeing three points against a Hoffenheim side sitting five points above the relegation region. All hasn’t been well at Bayern Munich in recent times. Apart from suffering three losses in the last five matches, the club had to suspend Sadio Mane after a reported bust up with Leroy Sane in the aftermath of a 3-0 loss to Manchester City in their last game. That loss leaves the Bavarians in danger of elimination from the Champions league, and follows on the earlier elimination from the German Cup. That means they need to at least maintain their lead in the league as this remains their realest chance at silverware.

Hoffenheim are making a great escape from the relegation zone and they will be fired up for this game. The visitors are on three straight wins and in each of these matches they have scored at least two goals. In their most recent game, Hoffenheim beat Schalke 2-0 and have since risen to 14th place, six points ahead of the automatic relegation places and five ahead of the relegation playoff spot. A win here could see Hoffenheim shoot to 12th place and while they eye those three points, a tightening in defence will be key as they have just one clean sheet in five matches. They’ve however failed to score in just one of their last five matches, and both teams have scored in three of their last four matches. Away from home, things haven't worked well, with the last nine matches delivering just one win. Both teams have scored in seven of those nine away matches.
