Bayern Munich will continue with their title defence at home against Hamburg as the Bundesliga hits matchday three. The champions have taken an early lead, while promoted Hamburg sit just above the relegation region. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Bayern Munich held off Augsburg to win 3-2 away from home before the international break. The Bavarians seem to be carrying their same old problems in defence. Out of their opening four matches in all competitions, they have managed just one clean sheet.

However, they make up for that with a prolific attack. In the same four matches, they have scored 14 goals. This might look like a mismatch, facing a side with no goals in the season yet.

Hamburg have had it tough in the new season and are heading to a very tough venue seeking their first goal of the campaign. This match will mark the first meeting between these two sides since 2018, when Bayern beat Hamburg 6-0.

That was Hamburg’s fourth straight defeat to Bayern without scoring. They carry similar challenges here, having gone into the break after a 2-0 home loss against St. Pauli.
