The third quarter-final in the 2023-24 DFB Pokal will see Bayer Leverkusen taking on Stuttgart on Sunday evening. The hosts currently lead their domestic league after 20 matches, while the visitors are in third place. This season has been something of a fairytale for Bayer Leverkusen. After ending the last league campaign in the relegation playoff spot, they are on 40 points after 20 matches this term, already surpassing their tally over the entire of last season. The main thing they will want to improve, though, will their their away record, having lost three of their last four league games on the road. Stuttgart have played two matches in this competition, beating Nuremberg (1-0) and Balingen (4-0). The last match between these sides ended 1-1 last month, but Stuttgart have not beaten this opponent in their last ten attempts.
