League One action from Oakwell on Saturday evening as third-place Barnsley welcomes seventh-place Stockport to South Yorkshire. Playing at home has not been a positive for The Tykes so far this season while The Hatters are unbeaten on their travels. That should make for an intriguing contest so let's work out a prediction for the match.
Barnsley have a win, a draw and a loss in their three home games. The success came in their most recent game at Oakwell, 2-1 over Bristol City. They took the lead that day before being pulled back. They then scored the winner in the 65th minute.
That was an issue against Northampton the home game before, running out into a 2-0 lead before having to settle for a 2-2 draw. At the back has been where they have had their problems. Beaten 0-3 at Stevenage away from home, they were then pummelled 0-7 at Manchester United in the League Cup.
Stockport have made an excellent start to life in League One. The 2009/10 season was the last time they were at this level, having a rollercoaster of a ride since, relegated three times in four years before three promotions in six have seen them back.
They have been beaten just once in six games so far, winning one and drawing two away from home. The win came at Blackpool 3-0 while the draws were both 1-1 at Mansfield and Crawley. A heavy home defeat to Leyton Orient last weekend will have left them smarting and looking for a much better performance here. Louie Barry leads the way with five goals in seven games in all competitions.
