AVS will hope to avoid defeat this Monday evening when they take on FC Porto at the Estadio do Desportivo das Aves in round nine of the Liga Portugal. AVS currently occupy 11th position with nine points while Os Dragoes have secured 21 points to place them second in the league. Here is our match prediction.

AVS comfortably progressed to the next round of the Taca de Portugal this past week when they dispatched OS Sandinenses with a second-half double that saw them end the night with a 2-0 victory. 

That result would be their first win in the last four matches, following two draws and a loss to Sporting Lisbon in their preceding three. 

However, at home, they have enjoyed a six-match unbeaten run in which they emerged victorious on four occasions after 90 minutes.

Porto, on the other hand, enter this match off the back of European success in midweek, beating Hoffenheim 2-0 at home in their round three Europa League clash.

With four wins from their last five matches, the Dragons will be brimming with confidence and looking to close the gap at the top of the table with another valuable three points.

On the road, Porto have found success lately, securing five wins from their last six domestic league matches, with their only defeat coming at the hands of league leaders Sporting Lisbon.
