Seventh placed Augsburg can't afford any slip-ups at home to FC Koln who are 17th in the Bundesliga. Augsburg are currently a place and five points behind the Europa Conference League qualifying spot and are currently in excellent form. They have won each of their last four league games and scored 12 goals in those matches. The final game played before the international break saw them come from behind to win 3-1 at Wolfsburg. Home form has seen them win five of their 11 Bundesliga games but the last two have been won. Wins have come against Freiburg and Heidenheim and they are unbeaten in their last three home league fixtures. The reverse fixture saw them draw 1-1 at FC Koln after going behind.

FC Koln are in danger of going down to Bundesliga II. They begin the weekend in the automatic relegation spots but only a point behind the play-off position. Claiming that place might be their best hope of staying in the Bundesliga as they are seven points from safety. The Billy Goats will need to ram some wins into their final set of fixtures. They need to improve their form though as six league games have been played since their last victory. Their most recent league match wasn't promising at all as they lost it 5-1 at home to Leipzig. That's eight goals conceded in their last two league fixtures. Away form is poor with only nine points from 13 games. Their only away league win came at bottom-of-the-table Darmstadt last December.
