It’s been another frustrating season for Atlanta United fans who have seen their team be wildly inconsistent over the last five years. They risk missing out on the playoffs this season as they currently sit two points behind ninth-place DC United for a spot in the play-in tournament.
Since returning to MLS play from a disappointing Leagues Cup performance, Atlanta have recorded one win while losing two. Their last outing saw them only generate 0.48 expected goals (xG) in front of their home fans in a 2-0 loss to Nashville. It marked the second time in the last three games that Atlanta United have failed to find the back of the net.
