A mouthwatering clash between two European football hopefuls will take place on Saturday in the English Premier League when Aston Villa host Tottenham Hotspur in the 36th round of matches. Eighth placed Villa are three points adrift of Tottenham who are sixth going into this game. This season’s European picture will see seven teams qualify for Europe by way of league placing and with three matches left to play, these two teams will have to be at their best so as not to miss out. Spurs’ struggles have largely been down to their woeful away form. They come to this match without a win in their last eight away matches across all competitions and suffered a disappointing 4-3 loss to Liverpool in their last away match. They have conceded nine goals in their last two away matches with six of those coming in a 6-1 humiliation at Newcastle United. Despite losing at home to Villa earlier in the season, Spurs have won four straight away matches in this fixture and will be hoping to extend this run and strengthen their hopes for Europe.
