Aston Villa vs Leeds Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Prediction
Aston Villa will play host to Leeds United as the two sides meet in the Premier League following winless outings in the FA Cup third round matches. Aston Villa will go into this game placed 11th on 22 points, five ahead of Leeds United who are 14th on 17 points. The hosts are coming from a humiliating home defeat, losing 2-1 to Stevenage in the FA Cup, which leaves them winless in the last two matches. They’ve managed four wins in the last 10 matches but their recent run in the league has been better, winning three and losing just once in the last five matches. Aston Villa have however managed one clean sheet only in the last five league matches, with both sides scoring in four of the last five matches. Three times in the last five league games, they’ve scored two or more goals but they’ve conceded first in three of their last five league matches. At home, they are winless in their last two matches while both teams have scored in Villa’s last three home league games. Aston Villa will miss the services of John McGinn who is nursing a hamstring injury while Diego Carlos remains a long-term absentee with a ruptured Achilles tendon. Following the defeat to Stevenage, Matty Cash and Ludwig Augustinsson will have late tests.
Leeds United are coming into this game from a very weak run. In their last game, they had to fight from two goals down against a 10-man Cardiff City side to pick up a 2-2 draw in the FA Cup third round. That was their sixth straight competitive outing without a win and the second straight game in which they trailed and came on to draw. Their league run needs a lot of improvement; four matches without a win in the league have left Leeds just two points above the relegation zone. They haven’t been great in defence in the league, conceding two or more goals in four of the last five, though they have scored two or more in three of the five games. Leeds have one clean sheet in the last five league matches. Away from home, they have five losses in seven games, and only one win in eight. Patrick Bamford’s expected return should boost Leeds United’s attack which for yet another game will miss Luis Sinisterra. Adam Forshaw, Archie Gray and Stuart Dallas are also out injured.

Our Aston Villa vs Leeds Prediction
Both these teams aren’t doing well defensively but have shown some consistency in scoring. In terms of strength though, Villa will have the edge against this Leeds side that has no win in the last six matches. Leeds haven’t also done well away from home in the league and this will be a tough test. For the Aston Villa v Leeds United game, back Aston Villa to win but with both teams scoring.
