Aston Villa vs Everton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Ian John | in Premier League Predictions
Aston Villa host Everton in the Premier League this weekend with the Villains looking to chew up the struggling Toffees on home soil. It is a crucial match for both teams as Villa seeks to push on towards the top four while Everton battles for points to move them off the bottom of the table. What is our prediction for this clash between two of the oldest Premier League teams?
The home side comes into this clash with six points from their three games and a level goalscoring record of four scored and four conceded. They occupy the seventh spot in the current table. Everton sits rock bottom with three defeats in three, two goals scored, and a worrying ten conceded.
This is an opportunity for Aston Villa to close in on the top four and maintain their challenge over the season's early weeks, especially with their Champions League campaign starting next week. Everton fans will want their team to avoid defeat and pick up something from any fixture, ideally starting with a trip to Villa Park, a place where their recent record is very poor.

Aston Villa - Everton: Form Analysis
Unai Emery's last home game saw Villa lose a tight clash 2-0 to Arsenal. However, they have won both their away games 2-1 (against West Ham and, most recently, Leicester), with Jhon Duran coming off the bench for Ollie Watkins to score the winner in both those games.
Watkins has been a little below par in the first three matches.
However, after pulling out from the England squad, he has had a further chance to rest. Now, he will be keen to get off the mark this season against the team with the poorest defensive record in the Premier League.
Everton's miserable start to the season began with Sean Dyche's team losing 3-0 at home to Brighton and then 4-0 away to Tottenham Hotspurs. Things, it seemed, could not get any worse. It looked as if their form had returned as they led 2-0 at Goodison Park against Bournemouth after 87 minutes in their previous game.
However, Bournemouth rallied to score three late goals to stun the Goodison crowd. In doing so handing Everton the ignominy of being the only team to be leading 2-0 after 87 minutes in the EPL, only to then go on and lose the game.
Villa have won four of the last five home EPL games with Everton.
The other finished in a draw.

Aston Villa & Everton Squad Analysis
Aston Villa will be without first-choice right-back Matty Cash, who is out injured. Lamare Bogarde could keep his place in the team as his deputy. Alternatively, Unai Emery could turn to Kosta Nedeljkovic.
Despite two winning goals in two away games, Colombian striker Jhon Duran is likely to start on the bench again with Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers likely to start in attack.
Ex-Everton midfielder Amadou Onana will likely continue in midfield.
The rangy Belgian midfielder has scored twice in his first three games for the Villains. Another ex-Evertonian, left-back Lucas Digne, is also expected to start against his former club.
Tyrone Mings is moving closer to returning from a long-term injury but remains unavailable for selection.
For Everton, young defender Jarrad Branthwaite remains sidelined after he had surgery on a groin issue. Recent signing Jake O'Brien, snapped up from Lyon in the transfer window, could make his first start at centre-back in place of Michael Keane.
On-loan striker Armando Broja is another out injured, while Seamus Coleman is in doubt after picking up a knock playing for Ireland against England in the international break. Tim Iroegbunam could start against his former club in a deeper-lying midfield role.

Our Aston Villa vs Everton Prediction
Our prediction for the Aston Villa vs. Everton Premier League clash is: Aston Villa to win to nil.
Villa's sole loss this season came to Arsenal, and there's no shame in that. They've won their other two games away from home and looked in good shape in those victories. Everton's confidence is shattered following three defeats in which they have conceded ten goals. This is a tough game for the Toffees, as their recent record at Villa Park shows. As such, with Everton's strikers misfiring, this is a game Villa should win comfortably.
Aston Villa vs Everton - Other Interesting Predictions
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) to score at any time.
Aston Villa's talented striker pulled out of England duty in the recent international break, so Watkins should be sharper ahead of this game with Everton. The striker hasn't found the net this season, after netting 27 goals in 53 games last season. Watkins is certainly overdue a goal to kick off his campaign.
Facing an Everton backline that has shipped at least three goals in every league game they have played this season, Watkins will surely get a chance or two to break that duck here.
