The match of the FA Cup third round sees Arsenal home to the cup holders Manchester United in an all-Premier League clash. Between them these two clubs have won the FA Cup 27 times with Arsenal winning 14 and the Red Devils 13. Read our match prediction below.
United are the cup holders and this competition represents one of their best chances to secure European football next season. It’s been a dismal few weeks for them despite appointing a new coach. The recent draw at Liverpool may give them some hope of a better 2025.
Arsenal last won the FA Cup in 2020 and since then have failed to get past round four. Drawing Manchester City and Liverpool in the past two seasons hasn’t helped though. Now they have another tough third round tie, the second in a run of five consecutive home matches. Can the Gunners make it into round four?

Arsenal - Manchester United: Form Analysis
Arsenal have lost four of their last five FA Cup matches so are probably overdue for a run in this competition. They are second in the Premier League but struggling to keep up with leaders Liverpool.
Midweek saw them lose 2-0 at home to Newcastle United in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final. They certainly won't want an early FA Cup exit to swiftly follow that disappointing result.
Are United finally finding some form?
Manchester United ended a poor run of results with a 2-2 draw at Liverpool. They led and trailed in that match but at least it wasn’t another defeat after losing four in a row. Not since 2014 have United been beaten in the third round of the FA Cup.
They have conceded eight goals in their last three matches but have scored five themselves. United lost 2-0 to Arsenal last month but did win at the Emirates in 2019. Their last five FA Cup away games have been won with both teams having scored in three of the last four.

Arsenal & Manchester United Squad Analysis
There's been little change in the Arsenal injury situation after their midweek Carabao Cup loss. The Gunners will continue to be without Bukayo Saka, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White and Ethan Nwaneri.
Leandro Trossard began the game against Newcastle and was tried out on the right flank. That didn't work well and he went off at half-time and might not start this FA Cup tie against Manchester United.
Jesus may start for the Gunners.
Gabriel Jesus could well start this cup tie and Riccardo Calafiori is another possible starter. Who'll be in goal? Neto couldn't play in the Carabao Cup but is eligible for this competition so may replace Raya.
Another big question is whether Marcus Rashford will feature for Manchester United. He's rumoured to be on the move this month and missed last weekend's match against Liverpool through illness.
Definitely missing for United will be Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Mason Mount. United do tend to make a fair few changes to their starting line-up and that may well be the case again here, especially with a midweek Premier League game. Altay Bayındır will be in goal for United this weekend.

Our Arsenal vs Manchester United Prediction
Manchester United won't want to lose their grip on the FA Cup. They won the trophy last season and this time around it's one of their few chances to qualify for European football next season. They put in an improved performance against Liverpool last weekend but are still conceding too many goals.
Arsenal had a disappointing midweek result against Newcastle. The FA Cup might also be their best chance of winning a trophy this season. Our main Arsenal v Manchester United prediction is both teams to score.
