Wednesday sees one of the more prestigious pre-season friendlies taking place in Singapore as Premier League runners-up Arsenal face Serie A giants AC Milan at the Singapore National Stadium. Can the Gunners, with several new faces set to make their debut, kick off their season with a win, or will the Rossoneri under Massimiliano Allegri, defy many a bookmakers prediction and come away with a win in this match?
Last season saw Arsenal finish second in the Premier League and reach the Champions League Semi-Finals, where they lost to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain. Milan could only manage eighth place in Serie A and were knocked out in the Champions League playoffs by Feyenoord.
Their most recent games came at the end of last season. Arsenal finished the season with a 2-2 draw away to Liverpool, followed by a 1-0 win over Newcastle United at home and a 2-1 away win over Southampton.
Milan were defeated 3-1 by AS Roma on the road in their penultimate game last season but beat Monza 2-0 at home on the final day of the season.
Both teams will have a number of new faces in contention to play in this fixture including Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard for Arsenal, while for AC Milan, Luka Modric and Samuel Ricci could make their debuts after joining Milan in the summer.
