Arminia Bielefeld, last years DFB Pokal beaten finalists, kick off their 2025/26 cup challenge with a home match against Werder Bremen. The SchucoArena will be vocal as the current Bundesliga II league leaders host the illustrious Green and Whites in a match that the home side will fancy their chances of causing an upset. What will our prediction be fore this first cup tie of the season for both teams?
With the Bundesliga II season already two games in, Arminia Bielefeld have enjoyed a fabulous start to the campaign following promotion from the 3. Liga last season. Michel Kniat's side started the seasoin with a 5-1 home win over Dusseldorf and then followed that up with a 2-0 win away to Holsten Kiel last Sunday. They are one of four teams with the maximum six points, but have the best goal difference of that group.
The Bundesliga does not kick off until next weekend, so Werder Bremen boss Horst Steffen will want his team to be in good form heading into their opening league fixture. It hasn't been a good pre-season for Bremen, winning just one game, drawing one and losing three, including their most recent friendly, which ended in a 2-1 home defeat to Serie A side Udinese.
