Argentina vs Uruguay Prediction & Betting Tips - Test Matchs

Seventh-ranked Argentina will wrap up their mid-year internationals as they host 17th-ranked Uruguay in Salta on Saturday. The Pumas will aim to return to winning ways with a victory over Los Teros after back-to-back defeats to England in their preceding series. Here is our prediction for the match.

Argentina opened their 2025 mid-year schedule with a narrow 28-24 victory over the British & Irish Lions. New manager Felipe Contepomi couldn't have wished for a better start at the reins of the Pumas. However, they stumbled afterwards, losing their two-test series 2-0 to England. This includes a 22-17 loss to the Red Roses in their last match. 

Contepomi will aim to return the team to winning ways on Saturday and also build momentum ahead of the 2025 Rugby Championship starting in August. They have been on a run of low and moderate-scoring tests, most of which ended under 69 total points.

Uruguay will enter this match on the back of two straight test wins, including a 70-8 victory over Romania in their last match. However, Rodolfo Ambrosio's side, ranked 10 places below Argentina, are not likely to pose much threat to the hosts.

Meanwhile, they have also been through low-scoring tests recently. Four of their last five matches ended below the 69-point threshold, including 12 of their last 13 away matches. Hence, our tip for the prediction.
