Wildcard Diane Parry and 25th seed Anhelina Kalinina will meet in the first round of the French Open on Tuesday. Anhelina is coming from loss in the final at the Italian Open. Playing in her first final of the season, the Ukrainian was forced to retire in the second set against Elena Rybakina with injury. A positive though from her run in Rome is that she is up to 24th in the live ranking, a new career high. She will hope to be fully fit for this third career encounter with Parry. Kalinina has defeated Parry in both previous meetings, which have all coincidentally, been on clay. Overall, Kalinina has had a rocky season so far with only four more wins than losses.
