Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina is again going well in Toronto. The 20th seed is up against sixth-seeded Andrey Rublev in the last 16 of the Canadian Open. Can he reach the last eight? Here's our match prediction.

This outdoor hard court tournament was last held in Toronto two years ago. Davidovich-Fokina reached the semi-finals on that occasion. The Spaniard is in top form at present and was the runner-up in Washington last month.

In this tournament, he’s beaten Corentin Moutet and 12th seed Jakub Mensik, both in straight sets. He’s now 18th in the live rankings and seven places higher in the ATP Race. 

Andrey Rublev had to come from a set down to beat Lorenzo Sonego on Friday. He was the Canadian Open runner-up last year but that tournament was played in Montreal. Rublev leads his opponent 5-1 in previous meetings, winning both matches played on this surface.

This year has seen the Russian win the Doha hard court title and reach two other semi-finals, one last month in Los Cabos. He’s been in and out of the top ten this year and is currently 11th in the live rankings, but five places below his opponent in the ATP Race.
