Algeria vs Niger Prediction & Betting Tips - African Nations Championship

The African Nations Championships (CHAN) semi finals are here and the first will see hosts Algeria take on one of the surprise teams, Niger. Algeria have maintained a perfect run to this end, winning each of their matches by identical 1-0 score lines and they will be targeting a fifth win at this competition. This is only their second appearance at the competition, and they have already matched what they achieved in 2011 on their debut. They finished fourth then, and this time the target should be at least getting to the final. Algeria saw off Ivory Coast 1-0 in the quarters, in a dramatic game that saw two red cards flashed out in the first half, and the hosts needing a stoppage time penalty to win the clash. Algeria will be without their first choice keeper Alexis Guendouz after his red card in the game, so Farid Chaal will get to start in the remaining games.

On their fourth appearance at the African Nations Championship finals, Niger have already set a new record for this competition. The furthest they had gone in the earlier three competitions was the quarter finals, on their debut appearance in 2011. Now they will aim to shock their hosts, who have been in this space before. This is the first time the two nations meet in a competitive game that is not a World Cup qualifier, and needless to say, Algeria have dominated the earlier four, winning all. Niger will however want to take advantage of Algeria not having their foreign based players here. Just like Algeria, Niger haven’t also conceded a goal in this competition, and they take to the game four straight clean sheets. Coming from a group that had three teams means they’ve played a game less. None of their last four matches have hit over 2.5 goals but to get here, Niger beat Ghana 2-0.
