Ninth seed Alex de Minaur is in the third round of the Miami Open for only the second time. He bids to get into the fourth round when taking on the 24th seed Jan-Lennard Struff. Unseeded opposition awaits in round four, either Fabian Marozsan or Alexei Popyrin. De Minaur has never made it into the fourth round (last 16) of this outdoor hard court tournament. It's been a good year for the Australian who is ranked tenth but fifth in the Live ATP Race. He's won the Acapulco tournament this year and also got to the final in Rotterdam. His last tournament saw him make it to the last 16 at Indian Wells. 

Jan-Lennard Struff is chasing a third successive win over de Minaur. He's beaten him in straight sets in their last two meetings, though the most recent was on clay. Before that he beat the Australian in an outdoor hard court event but that was four years ago. De Minaur's two wins over Struff came in 2018 and 2019 and both were on hard court matches. Struff was ranked 25th when this tournament got underway but is down a place in the live rankings. He's in round three here for the third time but the first since 2021. After a first round bye he beat fellow German unseeded Daniel Altmaier in straight sets. He's yet to make it past the last 16 of any tournament this year and is only 73rd in the live rankings. We tip de Minaur to win this in straight sets.
