The Three Lions are back in action this Sunday as England travel to Tirana to take on Albania in the final 2026 World Cup qualifying Group K fixture. Will England roll to victory once again or will the Red and Blacks prove to be formidable foes? Check out our match prediction!
Albania has done brilliantly this campaign as they have already wrapped up second place with one match to go. Their total of 14 points gives them a four-point lead over third place, meaning they will advance to the second qualifying round. They’ll be viewing this as an excellent litmus test as they try to prevent England from going a perfect eight for eight.
England has since qualified for the 2026 World Cup going back to mid-October. They’re now playing to maintain their perfect record as well as continue to mesh as a team under Thomas Tuchel, who is set to manage his 10th game as England boss. So far, things have looked promising under the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager, with the Three Lions winning eight and losing just once.

Albania - England: Form Analysis
Little has troubled England during their 2026 World Cup qualifying matches. They still have a perfect record, with seven wins from seven, 20 goals scored and zero goals conceded. On Thursday, England cruised to a 2-0 win over Serbia at Wembley to extend their winning streak to five straight across all competitions.
England's defensive record is quite remarkable as they have kept a clean sheet in 10 of their last 11 games going back to November 2024. The only hiccup during that stretch was a 3-1 loss to Senegal in an international friendly in Tuchel’s fourth game in charge.
Albania are seeking their first ever appearance at the World Cup finals.
This represents the furthest they have ever gone, as they have made it to the World Cup qualifying playoffs for the first time in their history.
Albania have built their World Cup qualifying charge off the back of a watertight defence that has conceded only three goals in seven Group K matches. The hosts wrapped up second place on Thursday with a 1-0 away win over Andorra.
They’re now on an impressive run of eight matches without defeat across all competitions, winning the last five straight.

Albania & England Squad Analysis
The visitors are without three national team regulars as Anthony Gordon, Marc Guehi and Nick Pope all withdrew from the squad due to injury.
Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze were the standout players in England’s win over Serbia with both players getting on the scoresheet. The question now is whether or not Thomas Tuchel opts to rotate his squad, or if he sticks with more or less the same starting 11.
Early signs are that he’ll likely continue with much of the same lineup, with Saka expected to retain his place on the right of Tuchel’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.
Harry Kane’s six goals scored is the most in Group K in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
There could be one or two changes though, with Jude Bellingham a likely candidate to replace Morgan Rogers in the number 10 role just behind Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane.
For the Albanians, the main attacking focus will be around Armando Broja and Rey Manaj. While he has found chances hard to come by in the Premier League this season, the 191cm Broja is always a threat.
Rey Manaj led the line for Albania in their 1-0 win over Andorra and is also a player that the England centre backs will have to keep an eye on. The 28-year-old ranks third in the group in goals scored with three in six games.

Our Albania vs England Prediction
This should be an interesting top of the table clash between the two in-form teams of Group K. Albania won’t make this easy for England to continue their perfect winning record. However, the visitors should ultimately be able to find the breakthrough with the extensive amount of firepower that they have at their disposal.
These are two impressive defences going toe-to-toe and we’re not expecting many goals in this one. Back England to edge out a stout Albanian side in a low-scoring victory. Our Albania vs England prediction: England win + under 4.5 goals.Albania vs England - Other Interesting Predictions
Harry Kane anytime goalscorer
The Bayern man is on penalties for England, which could be a major factor as this may very well wind up being a tight game. Kane is in the form of his life this season with 26 goals in 22 matches across all competitions as well as netting six in this qualifying campaign. He was kept off the scoresheet against Serbia and we don’t envision him going two straight matches without grabbing at least one goal.
