Our next match prediction takes us to the Eredivisie as two of the biggest names in Dutch football clash at the Johan Cruyff Arena as Ajax host Feyenoord. Die Godenzonen have had a poor domestic season so far in contrast to De Trots van Zuid, with Ajax well off the pace of the top two teams PSV and today's opponents.
Ajax are currently fourth in the table and under an interim manager in Fred Grim. They have 26 points from their 15 league games played so far. In contrast, Feyenoord are second in the table, six points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven, but with 34 points from 15 games played, eight points ahead of their hosts, with NEC Nijmengen in between the two.
However, there is some positive news for Ajax as under Fred Grim, recent results have improved. The upturn in form started with a 2-0 home win over Groningen in the league, which was followed by another win in the league last weekend, a 3-1 away win over Fortuna Sittard. Ajax then earned their first points in the Champions League this season in midweek winning 4-2 at Qarabag.
In contrast, it has been a tougher time for Feyenoord with just two wins in their last seven games. A run of four games without a win was ended by a 2-1 away win over Telstar and then followed a 6-1 thrashing of PEC Zwolle at home. However, in the Europa League they were beaten 4-3 in midweek away to Romanian side FCSB.
