Al Ahly will play host to TP Mazembe in the second leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final on Friday evening. The tie hangs in the balance following a 0-0 draw last week in Lubumbashi, and the winner of this match will move on to face either Mamelodi Sundowns or ES Tunis in the final. Al Ahly will undoubtedly be the happier of these sides with the first-leg result, as they were dominated for large parts, managing just 36% possession and a single shot on target across the 90. The defending champions will now return to their home patch, where they are formidable. At the Cairo International Stadium, the Red Devils are unbeaten in their last 16 matches in all competitions, including 11 wins and five draws. In this competition, they have not conceded a single goal in their five home games and have not lost on their home patch in the CAF Champions League since May 2022. The hosts have reached the final of this competition in each of the last four seasons and are the clear favourites to do so again this term. 

Meanwhile, despite being the underdogs, TP Mazembe are still in with a chance of reaching their first CAF Champions League final since 2014-15 when they overcame USM Alger 4-1 on aggregate. They will gain major confidence from their first-leg performance, where they showed that they can go toe-to-toe with the Egyptian giants. The Ravens are in excellent form this season, currently unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions, and they have won their first six league games in a row since the start of the domestic campaign. However, their away form in this competition has been less impressive, with one win, one draw and two losses posted in their last four games. They also failed to score in three of those matches and only managed one clean sheet in that time. The last time TP Mazembe visited the Cairo International Stadium, they were beaten 2-1 and they will need to be at their absolute best to stand a chance in this one.
