Al Ahly will look to book their spot in the next round of the CAF Champions League when they face Simba in the second leg quarter-finals on Friday evening. The hosts currently lead the tie 1-0 thanks to Ahmed Koka’s goal in the first leg. Al Ahly are going for back-to-back titles in this competition after beating Wydad AC in last season’s final. They came through the group stages with flying colours, unbeaten in Group D with 12 points in their six games. Ahly have dominated Simba in recent times, remaining unbeaten in their last four encounters. During their unbeaten streak, they have outscored Simba 5-3. They have not won on the road in the Champions League in their last seven attempts. Domestically, Simba are in third place in the Ligi Kuu Bara standings, seven points behind Young Africans, though they do have a game in hand. The visitors are looking to secure their first victory against this opponent since February 2021.
