Adam Walton will take on the qualifier Coleman Wong in the second round of this year’s US Open. This is their second meeting of the year and second at a tour event. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Adam Walton overcame the challenge of 22nd seed Ugo Humbert in the first round, winning in four sets. The win, his first at Flushing Meadows, saw him equal his best-ever result at a major.

Walton has never progressed past the second round at a Grand Slam. But having defeated Wong earlier this year, he will fancy his chances of improving his own history. The Australian has improved to 34-25 and jumped 11 places to 74th in the live ranking.

Colemn Wong had a winning start to his Grand Slam debut, dispatching American Aleksandar Kovacevic in straight sets. Producing such a resounding victory will have him enter this match fully confident of restoring his head-to-head advantage over Walton.

Wong defeated Walton in the Challenger Circuit in their first-ever meeting last season. The Hong Kong native, who has largely participated in challenger events, has shot up to 155th in the live ranking after improving to 23-22.

Wong ended his second-round hoodoo at tour events at this year’s Miami Open.
