Aberdeen and St. Mirren will meet at Pittodrie Stadium on matchday 24 in the Scottish Premiership. Aberdeen sit fourth in the league standings, while St. Mirren are eighth with 27 points. Let's get into the match prediction.

Aberdeen defeated League Two side Elgin City 3-0 at home in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday. 

This was a much-needed win for head coach Jimmy Thelin and company after a lengthy run of 12 games without a win recording eight losses and four draws. 

It has to be pointed out that the winless run came in the Scottish Premiership, where they've come unstuck. Their last match in this competition saw them concede three goals without a reply in an away defeat against Rangers FC. 

St. Mirren was also successful in the Scottish Cup as they eased past Queen of the South in a 3-1 away win. In light of that win Stephen Robinson's men advanced to the next round where they'll face league rivals Hearts in February.

Before that win, the Buddies were on a four-match losing streak in the league, conceding eight goals, which is hardly a startling revelation for the league's fourth-worst defensive team.

One of those defeats came against Dundee United at home. They were minutes away from salvaging a point until Louis Elliott's late goal in the 88th minute condemned them to a 1-0 defeat.
