The Scottish League Cup Group Stage is underway and on Saturday, Aberdeen host Queens Park in what is the Dons second game in the tournament and the Spiders third. Both teams come into this game unbeaten in the competition, but with home advantage, and playing at a higher level, backing the home side Dons to take the win, and by leading at half time and full time, looks the value bet to back. Especially given the low value odds on an Aberdeen win.
Last season Aberdeen finished the equivalent of 9th in the Scottish Premiership (3rd in Group B of the final stage of the season) while Queens Park finished sixth in the Scottish Championship, the division below the Premiership.
This will be Aberdeen's second game in the tournament. The Dons played Brora Rangers away last Tuesday evening and earned a 2-0 win away at the Highland League part-timers, Kevin Nisbet scoring both goals, one in each half. Prior to that they had beaten Linfield 2-0 away from home in another friendly, as well as losing 1-0 away to Twente in another pre-season game.
Queens Park are currently top of the League Cup group after beating Brora Rangers 3-1 at home in their opening game and then they earned a 2-0 away win at Kelty in midweek.
