Bayern Munich and Mainz will square off, weeks after their season’s first meeting, but this time in the Bundesliga. Mainz are set to host this Saturday match, seeking a chance to break into the top six. Read on for our prediction.

In October, Mainz hosted the Bavarians in the DFB Pokal, a match they went on to lose 4-0. They will be eyeing revenge here, even though in their last three meetings with Bayern Munich, they suffered heavy defeats.

This match traditionally produces high scores and we don’t expect it to be any different here. In their last outing, Mainz conceded their leads thrice, and fell 4-3 against Wolfsburg.

Bayern Munich had a shaky start in their last game, a Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk. They conceded in the opening five minutes but recovered well to thrash the Ukrainians 5-1 in Gelsenkirchen.

Jamal Musiala was on the score sheet again, and will want to carry on this form to the Mainz game. In the last eight matches pitting these teams, Musiala scored seven times.
