Fifth seed Jack Draper will take on the unseeded Zizou Bergs in the second round of the US Open. This will be their second meeting at a major and their third overall. Read on to see our prediction for the match.

Zizou Bergs had a strong start to this year’s major at Flushing Meadows, defeating Chun-hsin Tseng in straight sets. The Belgian had arrived for the match having managed just one win in 10 outings.

After making the final in Hertogenbosch, his second final of the year, Bergs suffered a surprising dip in form. The win over Tseng is Bergs's first at a major this year and has nudged him up two places to 46th in the live ranking.

Jack Draper had a shaky start to his return to the year’s final major and needed a fourth set to outwit Federico Agustin Gomez. There shouldn’t be much to read into that opener as the Brit was ending an almost two-month break from competitive action.

Draper hadn’t taken to a tennis court since a disappointing second-round loss at Wimbledon. This year’s Indian Wells champion, Draper, has also made the final in Madrid and Doha.

Currently down to seventh in the live ranking, Draper is defending 800 points, won in his run to the semi-finals last season. The 23-year-old has won both times against Bergs, most recently in last year’s Wimbledon campaign.
