Alex Michelsen is the 11th seed for the Winston Salem Open but the second highest one remaining. He takes on unseeded Zizou Bergs in the last 16 of this hard court tournament. Here's our prediction for this match.

Michelsen was a career-high 52nd in the latest rankings and is up a place in the live rankings. He needs to win two more matches to reach the top 50 for the first time. He's still a teenager but only just as the 25th sees him celebrate his 20th birthday.

Recent weeks have seen the American get to a hard court quarter-final in Washington and the last 32 of the Cincinnati Masters. Before that he was a losing finalist in the Hall of Fame Open grass court tournament.

This week has seen him play just one match. That was against unseeded Marton Fucsovics and he won that in straight sets, though one did go to a tie-break. A win here will take him into his third hard court quarter-final of the year.

Zizou Bergs is one of two Belgians in the last 16, the other being David Goffin. He began this tournament ranked 85th but is now 79th in the live list. Last week saw him face Michelsen in the first qualifying round and the American won in three sets

That was his fourth straight loss with his last win coming on grass at Wimbledon where he made it through the qualifiers but lost in round one. His last main draw win came in June but he's returned to form this week in Winston Salem.

Wins have come over Reilly Opelka and sixth seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry but both required three sets. He had to come from behind to beat Etcheverry. We tip Michelsen to get the win here.
