Yannick Hanfmann vs Jakub Mensik Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Munich Open

Jakub Mensik returns to the court after a two-week break and will be up against Yannick Hanfmann at the BMW Open. They meet in the first round with the winner setting up a match against Tallon Griekspoor. Read on for our prediction.

This will be the two players’ fourth meeting, wildcard Hanfmann leading 2-1 from the earlier three meetings. The German’s three-set defeat to David Goffin in the Monte Carlo Masters qualifiers was his fourth straight loss.

In each of his last three events, Hanfmann didn’t last more than a match. He comes here on a 6-8 record, having lost four of his five matches on clay.

Mensik, the sixth seed, was not initially set to take part here but he comes in after Taylor Fritz pulled out. This will be the Czech youngster’s first competition since winning the Miami Open title.

The 19-year-old arrives for this match on a seven-match winning run, and he has claimed a number of big scalps in the process. The biggest of them was beating Novak Djokovic in his latest match – the Miami Open final.

With a 17-7 record for the season, Mensik will be confident of starting his clay campaign on a winning note. In his last 10 clay court matches, Mensik posted six wins.
